Charis is the Greek word for grace. For us, it captures the heart of this community.
We live in the grace of God, received through Jesus Christ. That shapes how we work, how we treat people, and how we respond to both opportunity and difficulty: with gratitude, courage, and generosity.

We believe the opportunities, skills, and resources God gives us are also opportunities to serve. That might mean opening a door for someone starting out, supporting a fellow member’s business, sharing a hard-earned lesson, or helping someone through a difficult season.
Our hope is to see businesses thrive, families strengthened, and communities better off because we were here.

- Charis is a Christian business community. Charis is the Greek word for grace. It brings Christian business owners and professionals together to build meaningful relationships, support one another, and make a difference through the work we do.
- Does it cost anything to join?
- Membership is free. Some events are free and some are paid; the price is always shown before you book.
- Do I need to own a business?
- No. Whether you are starting something new, growing an established business, or bringing your skills to a team, you have something to contribute.
- Can I come to an event before joining?
- Yes. You are welcome to attend an event as a guest first, without creating an account, and you can bring someone with you.
- Where does Charis meet?
- Charis is starting in Gauteng, South Africa. Every event page shows the city, suburb and venue.
- How do members connect with one another?
- Members list their businesses in a directory that only signed-in members can see. Your personal email address is never published. When you want to reach someone, an organiser asks them first and shares your details only if they accept.
- Is this a place to sell to other members?
- No. Charis is not a lead list. Multi-level marketing recruitment and pressure selling are not permitted.
